Specific Objectives:

  • Study of the materia medica in the collection of the cabinet of the Salvador family [JPT, ESC, JMO, ATV]
  • Analysis of the change in the regime of exhibition experienced by the Salvador Collection (IBB) in the hands of the two last generations of owners [JPT, ESC, XUL]
  • Study of the creation of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Barcelona from the configuration of a teaching plan of courses and educational resources in the central decades of the 19th century [AZO]
  • Normative study of the museological sciences in the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Barcelona [AZO]
  • Study of the arquitectura and the regimes of exhibition and use of the scientific collections of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Barcelona [AZO]
  • Inventory and study of the materials preserved in: the Unity of Human Anatomy of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Barcelona; of the grass plates from the Unity of anatomy and Human Embryology, preserved in the CRAI-Library of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Barcelona, as well as of other materials to be found in these dependencies; of the materials from the Unity of Anatomy preserved at the MHMC [BTG]
  • Study of the anatomical museum of the University of Barcelona as a space of science [BTG]
  • Study of the ceroplastic collections of the Real Colegio de Cirugía de San Carlos which became in 19th century the Anatomical Museum of the Faculty of Medicine of the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, and survives nowadays under the name of Museo Javier Puerta [BTG, MMP]
  • Elucidate the origine of the skulls and the human remains existing in the collection of the Museum of Natural Sciences in Barcelona (MCNB) [JPT]
  • Elucidate the origin of the skulls taken to the historico-american exhibition in Madrid in 1892 and their specific context of exhibition and reception [JPT, HGB]
  • Study the exhibions, fairs, and circus in the cities of Barcelona and Madrid at the end of 19th, beginning 20th century from the literary images created by the two writers and observers of the urban reality: Pío Baroja and Santiago Rusiñol [AZO, MMP]
  • Study the photographic material related to the collections of portraits of circus and entertainment characters owned by the producer Spanish, Leonard Parish, nowadays preserved at the Spanish National Library (BNE) [JPT, AZO, MSM]
  • Study of the uses and regimes of exhibition of the collection of the popular anatomical museum known as Roca Museum [AZO, JPT]
